When I was a kid edgy alternative teens/tweens used to draw scary gory demented vent art and it was literally fine cause it was just kids trying to act ~sick and twisted~ in like a quirky way to cope with the world like literally just reading JTHM and going “that’s so cool I wanna draw like that” but nowadays a kid can’t draw like a Nightmare Before Christmas-esque creepy face without a bunch of true crime girlies going “oh my god they’re literally the next Jeffrey Dahmer their parents need to put them under observation or something before they start murdering animals or something”

“Obsession with dark and violent things is a warning sign of being a future killer”

Have you literally ever met an emo kid? They’ll draw demons and ghouls bleeding out of every orifice and threatening each other with big knives and then cry when they find a dead bunny in their yard

We've all gotten just a bit too comfortable being jerks to strangers on the internet I think

So I've hidden this reply, both because it's obnoxious and because I don't want the person who wrote it being harassed for it, but I need you to understand: I don't know you. We are not friends. This is not fun or cute, we are not sharing a charming joke together. You are just being an asshole.

literally that is what the post is about, I am saying people should be less eager to jump on any chance to be snarky and rude to total strangers on the internet

People swing wildly between seeing indigenous people as "evil savages" and "noble protectors of the forest" instead of just seeing us as people and it's not only really goddamn dehumanizing, it also makes it harder to talk about our own community issues without supposedly progressive people thinking that that gives them permission to jump right into violent racism that they pulled directly from Manifest Destiny propaganda.

Like I see so many Native people who desperately wish they could talk more openly about enrollment issues and lack of marriage equality and other forms of bigotry that our tribes justify with blood quantum and claims of tradition but they can't do that because it opens the door for people to just be obscenely, horrifically racist and think that they're progressive for doing so.

"Oh, this Native person is talking about asshole Elders on their tribe's council? Well obviously this means that all culture and religion are evil tools of oppression that are holding us back and people who still cling to cultural traditions are just dumb and ignorant bigots.

Except for my culture, obviously, since I see it as the default state of humanity."

I am biting you. I am biting you and I am killing you.

i don't get the whole deadname thing. like i do empirically but it never applied to me. personally my birth name's like. idk, yugoslavia? it's not accurate to call me that now and if you do you're a bit dense, but sometimes you need to speak about history with the names it had at the time, and that's all good.

no my parents did not name me yugoslavia. that's not what this post says.
